Hi Mr. Pan,
Thanks for all the help and support you’ve provided me with for the past two years. Receiving your help has allowed me to learn Chemistry from both a practical and detailed point of view which has led me to approach this course with a positive and confident attitude. Through our one on one sessions, I’ve gotten to know you personally and I can confidently say your kindness and willingness to help has played a huge part in my understanding of the course in it’s entirety. Last year, I got a 90% in Chemistry 11 and this year I got a 92% in Chemistry 12 and I would not have been able to accomplish this without you! It’s been a pleasure working with you and I hope we can cross paths again.
Hi Mr. Pan,
Thank you so much for tutoring me over the last two years. You’ve helped me come so far, from not knowing anything about chemistry and struggling with unit conversions to going through all of AP Chemistry together. Thank you for being a dedicated educator who goes beyond the textbook to inspire curiosity and critical thinking. Your commitment to our learning journey has empowered me to believe in my abilities and strive for excellence. I am grateful for the knowledge, skills, and confidence you have instilled in me.
Hi Mr.Pan,
I would like to thank you for all your support in the past 2 years of my high school career! I remember that we were introduced in my grade 10 summer prior to my Chemistry 11 summer school course, and it has been quite a while since then. 2 years later I am officially finished with IB Chemistry HL and I could not have achieved this level of success without your help! Grade 12 was a very difficult and busy year and all my HL courses, including Chemistry were much more difficult compared to grade 11, especially in the larger units such as Acid/Base, Redox, and Organic Chemistry.
I am happy to say that I think the final Chemistry exam generally went. Though I still think my physics test was most likely the best, (and history was the worst), Chemistry was quite solid. The paper 3 from this year was the most difficult part, in both the option C energy which was completely different from previous years, and the lab analysis which also appeared to be different. Papers 1 and 2 both went smoothly. Without all the resources and support you have given me, I definitely would not have been able to feel this confident about the 2023 exams. Thank you for your patience, especially in rescheduling our classes to accommodate for my schedule! I'm sure that the rest of your graduating students feel the same way, and your current students are very lucky to have you as their teacher.
Once again, thank you so much for everything in the past years! Wishing you the best in your teaching career, as well as in the health of both you and your family!
Mr. Pan, you change lives.
You are the most hardworking, knowledgeable and reassuring teacher who met me exactly where I was, a struggling IB chemistry student. You patiently showed me exactly what I needed to know, and chemistry lessons became something I look forward to rather than dread. Your support inside and outside the class means the world, whether it's having class early in the morning, or staying late until I understand. Mr. Pan you are my biggest cheerleader for my upcoming IB exams!
Dear Mr. Pan,
I am writing this letter to express my SINCERE THANKS to you for helping and guiding me in my courses of Chemistry 12, IB Chemistry HL, and Physics 12. You have been a major source of inspiration for me since the last two years. Today, I would like to take the opportunity to thank my teacher who has been able to cope up with me and act like a guiding star throughout.
I truly appreciate your care, responsibility, and support to me regarding physics-related and chemistry-related issues. I enjoyed being your student immensely because you are an excellent teacher and have enlightened me to continue pursuing science with an open and positive mind. I will never forget about my past school years as I appreciate all your diligence, which meant so much to me.
Mr. Pan is a great chemistry tutor who has helped me tremendously during my time in IB chemistry. I would highly recommend anyone having difficulties in chemistry to take his classes.
Hello Mr. Pan,
I hope you’re having a great summer. I just wanted to let you know that I got my IB results a couple days ago and I got a 7 in Chemistry. Thank you so much for all your help. I really couldn’t have done it without you.
Dear Mr. Pan,
Thank you for teaching me Chemistry 12 this year. What started off as a dreadful outlook to the year became one which made me excited and interested. Over the past six months, your humorous and eventful classes made chemistry an enjoyment.
I want to thank you for all the hard work you put into me and dedication you gave to make me succeed. You believed and encouraged me when I started to lose hope. Throughout the lessons you allowed me to learn more about myself. I will never forget the crucial life lessons nor the midnight test reviews nor our prayers. Thank you for everything.
Dear Mr. Pan,
When I started tutoring with you last summer I had no confidence in my ability to perform well in IB Chem HL in grade 12. I had a very poor performance earning me a final score of 72%, or a 3. I was very concerned that this would hold me back from succeeding in my goal to become a doctor and attend UBC. Immediately after starting classes with you, I noticed a difference in my enjoyment of chemistry and my understanding. You knew how to explain the material in a way that I could easily understand and you always had patience to answer my questions, keeping me overtime nearly every class. Your organized lesson plans and obvious experience in tutoring IB chemistry also played a huge role in my success this year, and I always looked forward to coming to class and expanding my knowledge. Rather than reading the textbook as I had done the year before, you encouraged me to be more active in my practice of chemistry and the countless past papers that you gave to me for practice helped me understand what IB was looking for and I earned a 6 as my final score. I will forever be grateful for your support this year and I wish you all the best in the future.
Hi Mr. Pan,
I want to thank you for your teachings in IB grade 11, 12 chemistry. If it haven’t been for you, I wouldn’t have gotten a predicted mark of 6 out of 7 in IB, and fall in love with chemistry so much, especially in organic chem. Now I am studying at UBC, and organic chemistry has been my favourite subject, and the subject where I had my highest mark of all other subjects. When everyone thought organic chemistry was the hardest subject of all, I thought it was easy, because I have learned it with you already. I just want to thank you again for teaching me chemistry in high school during grade 11 and 12, it has helped me a lot.
Hi Mr. Pan,
Thank you so much for helping me with IB Chemistry. If you asked me a year ago, I would have never imagined myself to obtain a high grade in chemistry class; so when I saw my Chemistry HL final grade, I was ecstatic to find out that I got a 6 on the IB scale. When I first entered your class, I had a chemistry average of 4 (79%), this low mark was especially devastating for me as I wanted to go into a life science major in university. However, with your patience and encouragement during each lesson, I regained my confidence and improved drastically in this subject. You’ve always told us to do all of our practice questions and past exams, and even though I was skeptic at first, this method really worked! I really enjoyed your classes, you are a fantastic chemistry teacher!
Dear Mr. Pan,
In IB HL Chemistry 11, I was struggling with many of the major topics and was predicted a 4/7 at the end of the year. It was at this point that I knew that I needed help and you were one the most highly recommended tutors. You accepted me as your student and with your teachings in IB HL Chemistry in grade 12, I was able to succeed in all topics and maintained a ~98% average on all my tests and quizzes. With this progression, not only was I able to achieve the award for Outstanding Achievement in IB Chemistry HL 12, but I was also predicted a 7/7. I was accepted into UBC Sciences and Sauder School of Business with my standing.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication – without it, I wouldn’t have been able to succeed in IB Chemistry HL.
Mr. Pan,
Thank you for helping me with chemistry this (almost) entire year; I am really glad I found you as my chemistry tutor! If I didn’t take lessons from you early in the school year, my grades would not have been good enough for university admission! Even though I studied really hard, my grades were pretty bad at the beginning of the year. You were right; only reading over my notes is not enough; I have to keep doing practice exams to become familiar with the type of questions teachers might ask. I couldn’t believe I went from a predicted 4 to a predicted 6 since I started learning from you, and I ended up with a final IB Chemistry mark of 7/7.
Thank you, again, for giving me useful study tips, answering my never-ending questions, and pushing me really hard throughout the semester. It was fun and productive learning chemistry from you.
Hi Mr. Pan,
Thank you so much for teaching me this year! I clearly remember that when I came to you last summer, I didn't expect much since I didn't remember anything from chemistry 11 other than I was catching up and confused all the time. I really felt that chemistry was and would never be my thing until this year. Even though I forgot almost everything in chemistry, my fuzzy memory started to come back as we went over some practice examples. The parts where I was confused at since last year were also cleared up. Then, by going over the concepts ahead of class and doing practice exercises over and over, I was able to answer almost every question in the chemistry 12 workbook and the worksheets. Because of your suggestion in doing every question from the workbook, worksheets and the provincial exam booklet, I ended up with 97% as my final mark in chemistry 12. Having a more than 10% increase from chemistry 11 to chemistry 12 is truly amazing and unexpected. Thank you so much for making this progress.
Hey Mr. Pan,
Thank you for teaching me chemistry. Without your help, I would not have been able to do as well as I did. Your diligence in teaching, interesting lessons, and helpful worksheets gave me a sound understanding of chemistry for the IB exams. If I had done my homework, the results might have been even better. No matter how dumb the question seemed to me, Mr. Pan would always be happy to help and answer it. The excellent preparation for the IB exams saved me precious time, meaning that I had more time to work on my other subjects as well. When there are difficult concepts to understand, Mr. Pan’s analogies would make them simple to understand. I would definitely recommend Mr. Pan to my friends, anyone struggling with chemistry, or anyone who wants preparation for the exams.
Mr. Pan,
I entered your tutoring academy the summer of 2012 as an IB student struggling in Chemistry HL. I was achieving a constant IB score of 4 in many of my tests, and a desire to improve was present. From the time between the summer of 2012 and the end of my grade 12 school year, your intensive and structured approach in helping me with Chemistry greatly improved my knowledge in this subject. Right from the beginning of my grade 12 year, the improvement was a result of your great teaching style and heavy workload, a combination that set me up for success. The improvement in my test scores allowed my teacher to give me a good predicted score in January. The predicted score improved my chances of getting into UBC, an aspiration that I had when I first entered IB. My aspiration was realized just a while ago, when the UBC acceptance letter came through the mail. I will be entering the Faculty of Science the next school year in fall of 2013. Thank you for all your help the past school year and I wish you the best in the future.
Hi Mr. Pan!
Thank you for spending 1.5 hours every Thursday to teach me chemistry: sometimes even letting me stay after class to finish. Because of you, a student that almost gave up IB due to chemistry now can call chemistry her strongest subject. Back when I was in grade 11, no matter how hard I tried to study I was never able to raise my marks to leave the 4 grade band. Now I know the main reason for my failure: it is because my method of studying is wrong. You cannot just simply read and hope to absorb all the material in, but you have to practice by using past exams, find your weak points and understand. In order to prepare for the May we almost went through all the past exams that we could find. Opening the IB website and seeing that I got a 7 for chem was very exciting. With all the effort that we have both put in, I believe that this result I earned. I’ve probably never worked so hard for an exam therefore truly thank you for motivating me to practice, practice and do more practice in order to be better and thank you for having faith in me and believing that I can do it.
Hey Mr.Pan,
Throughout the last two years, you help me out in chemistry and life in general. Although I never live up to your expectations regarding school grades, you never stop encouraging me to improve. To me, you are like a friend and a second father. Not only are you an excellent teacher, but you teach with such experience that makes chemistry simple to understand and enjoyable to learn. Furthermore, your tutoring sessions are unlike any other. Instead of only focusing on school work and grades, occasionally you provide stories on regard to daily living that shape me out as a better human being. I understand that high school is over and a new life is soon to begin for me. However, it is much likely that our paths will cross once again. If we do meet in the future, it would either be for academic problems or a friendly visit. Hopefully, at that time, you can support me once again or enjoy some stories that I might have to share. Please continue to teach with your passion and style. However, be wary about your health. I say thanks and farewell for now, but I hope to see you soon.
Mr. Pan,
Thank you very much for tutoring me in Chemistry 12 and AP Chemistry last year. Without your support and guidance, I’m positive that I would not be as successful in my Chemistry 12 course as well as the AP Chemistry Exam. Although the content was quite challenging, your straightforward teaching method and careful, thorough explanations of all the problems and solutions provided me with the knowledge needed to tackle the more difficult questions on the exams with relative ease. Thanks to your expertise, I managed to achieve a 5 on my AP Chemistry Exam and allowed me to receive two full courses worth of chemistry credits at the University of Waterloo. As well, the AP exam mark was also the deciding factor in me being accepted into the Double Degree Program offered jointly by Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Waterloo. Now, I am able to earn two prestigious degrees at the same time and this would not been possible without your help in my chemistry courses and exams. You have provided me with the tools and skills needed to succeed in the harsh environment of university and I sincerely thank you for your time last year.
Hi Mr. Pan,
I am writing to say thank you for everything you did this year to help me understand and improve in chemistry. I really appreciate that you took your time to teach me and not get frustrated to go over a concept more than one time when I was confused. Through all the problems and tests you gave me practice I now know what is the best way for me to study. More than all, you taught me to have self-confidence and not to be afraid of being wrong. You also taught me good studying habits that will be very useful when I am in university. If I have not met you in the most important year of high school, I would probably not do as well as I did in chemistry now. I also wished that I have met you earlier so I would understand and like chemistry more. Thank you for all your guidance and support towards me. They are the key elements that got me to where I am today. I could have never done this without you.
Thank you again.
I must thank Mr. Pan for patiently tutoring my two sons, which resulted in their high academic achievements.
After Edmond received Mr. Pan’s tutoring, he made significant progress and his ranking at school shot up. Because of this, he decided to bring his little brother, Andrew, to Mr. Pan’s tutoring lessons as well. Mr. Pan didn’t just give them an education, but he also motivated them to learn.
Edmond is attending the University of Toronto as an engineering science major and Andrew was accepted to UBC, UT, Waterloo, McGill, Washington University in St. Louis, and the University of Chicago. He chose to attend the University of Chicago; for this I have to thank Mr. Pan for his educating and encouragement.
Hi Mr. Pan,
I started taking chemistry tutoring sessions from Mr. Pan in September 2007 in preparation for my grade 12 year. Prior to the classes, Mr. Pan and I set a goal for the year, and he told me that if I keep practicing and reviewing, the marks would speak for themselves.
The classes in grade 12 were a lot harder than most people give them credit for, and if I did not have all of Mr. Pan’s review sheets and notes, I would not have done as well as I did. Mr. Pan not only taught and explained the course to me, but he also watched over as I did the practice questions, and was always there and available for my questions.
Throughout the semester, I grew confident in my chemistry class (something I have never been able to do), and so I would just like to take this opportunity and say a big THANK YOU to Mr. Pan.
Hey Mr. Pan,
I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to Mr. Pan for assisting my son Benjamin at grade 12 chemistry and the AP program from September 2006 to June 2007.
Mr. Pan is an extraordinary teacher. I have seen many examples of his talent and have long been impressed by his diligence and responsible work. Mr. Pan has outstanding organizational teaching skills. He is able to successfully assist my son at his grade 12 chemistry and the AP program. I must also make note of Mr. Pan’s exceptional academic performance that is my son received enrollment to UBC.
To conclude, I would like to restate my strong recommendation and thanks to Mr. Pan.
Mr. Pan is a passionate teacher who inspires students to want to learn more. He is very organized and resourceful, providing excellent study guidance to students, helping them practice and succeed in Chemistry. He is knowledgeable and outstanding at making Chemistry fun and very easy to understand. Mr. Pan is also a teacher who cares about his students and is always welling to give extra help whenever possible. Most importantly, through his help, I was able to score high on the subject that I struggled a lot. Mr. Pan is definitely an excellent teacher for anyone who wants to do well in Chemistry.
Hi Mr. Pan,
I won't forget all of the wonderful memories that we had in the chemistry classroom. I want to give a special thanks to my amazing chemistry tutor for his patience and kindness. May the Lord be with your family and support all your students in your Oneness Learning Center.
If you want to do well in your Chemistry classes, learning, applying what you learned, Oneness Learning Center is the place to go. The techniques, teaching methods from Oneness Learning Center are very helpful and useful. It not only helps you to solve problem, but also helps you to succeed in your grade.
I graduated 2001 with a decent mark on Chemistry 12. Thank you.
Very experienced and motivating teacher with a lot of teaching resources! He helped me to get above 90% in physics 12 and 100% in chemistry 12 provincial exam 15 years ago. I was able to get into applied science at UBC right after high school.
